company coming......

Well......I think I told you a couple weeks ago my girlfriend from Oklahoma was coming....of course I had the dates wrong...lol. She is coming tomorrow!!! Today I had a million things to do.....I worked midnight last night and my daughter Ashley relieved me this morning at 10 am. We work 12 hour shifts (10 to 10 ) So I was anxious to get home and get started. Ash comes in and shows me her arm. It is all swollen and red and has to marks in the middle like a big bite. I am thinking right away...SPIDER. So I come home and have to arrange for someone to come in and take Ashleys place while I take her to the Emergency Room. Then I have to go back and get her and take her to ER ( and you never know how long that will take). Luckily it only took 2 hours , they gave her an antibiotic and told her to soak it. ( It is nasty looking) Then I took her back to the job, came home, cleaned out the refrigerator and went back to town to get groceries. I dont know about you guys but to me, the worst part about getting groceries is carrying them in the house. Its like endless! And then putting them away!

I didnt get anything else done today....tomorrow I know my Mom is going to try to get me up early to get everything done. I am not a morning person! I work better under pressure so I think I will sleep till noon and then get up and vacuum, dust, change beds, clean the bathroom, and scrub the kitchen floor. My Mom will be pacing the floor and sighing deeply ( a sign she is not happy with me) till I get out of bed. She doesnt understand that once I get going I am a ball of fire. And it will all be done before 5 pm when Barbara is arriving. I will even have dinner in the oven, which is going to be poppy seed chicken.

Thank you to all who commented about my new puppy Gabby. She is doing wonderful!!! She has not gone in the house once!!! Since I had to work the first 2 nights I got her and she slept with my Mom I figured she would not sleep with me, but she is all snuggled up on my bed as I sit here typing. I think she is waiting for me to come to bed, she doesnt know yet but she has a long wait....lol. I am just so pleased with her. My beloved Toby was a yorkie, and I loved him so much , but yorkies are very tempermental. If you leave them longer than they think you should be gone they tend to pee, just because they are mad. And of course by then you love them so much you just clean up the pee. When I would come in from work Toby would cry and bark till I picked him up, if I had to run to the bathroom to tinkle I had to do it with the dog on my lap. He was definitely a lap dog...lol. My girlfriend Valerie watched him while I went to Myrtle Beach one time and she said she had to do the same thing or he would cry..lol. But what can I say..I loved him.

So I am going to play a few games of scrabble and try to be in bed by 3am...whatever time I get to bed....I will still have things done by 5 tomorrow.....trust me on this one.

How wonderful that you have a girlfriend coming to visit! I hope that you get everything done before she arrives. Be sure to get some sleep too. :)

Thanks for your comment on my WFMW (alternate use for a pot rack) post.

Please, do tell...why do you freeze your paint brushes? :)

I hope your daughter recovers nicely from the spider bite. Those things can get nasty in a hurry.

I am curious to know if your grocery shopping expereinces are like mine. Is the guy that sacks your groceries and takes them to the car always retarded. I swear I am a retard magnet, everytime I go there I get a retard. I feel bad for them and all but I don't want them carrying my eggs and talking to me.

I 'd love that chicken. I wish you good luck on being ready when your friend comes. We had a tempermental dog that would get upset when we were late. Once we had five banners we made for lent handging over the long dining room table. BoBo baptized each of them. On the bottom of each was a yellow kind of half moon. We were alble to cut it off anf save them all.

oh man I know the feeling. When the hose has to go from disaster to neat freak, I really really really like to wait till teh last possible moment. I kick EVERYONE out, and i clean . I cant clean without a reason, im lazy like that. I folded a room full ( no really, a whole room full, maybe 15 loads) of clothes today because I NEED to use my sewing machine tonight. If i had no real reason to do the clothes they would still be sitting there. If i see dihes piled up it will take me a lazy hour to clean them but If someone calls saying hey we are coimg over, see u in 30 minutes I can do the dishes pick up the toys and vaccume and still ahev time for a smoke and a cuppa java before they get here.

I clean best under pressure, so yea, I do beleive you will have it all done bofore five!

Fuzz: the spider bite is more swollen today and she is on her way back to the ER now.....I am very worried about it. She is in a lot of pain with it.

Pendullum: Thank you Sweety. If Barbara goes to sleep before I do I will be checking back in...lol. Old friends are the very best friends.

cd: carries them out to my car???? you must be joking! I carry them out to my car! Thank goodness they do bag them! Not always well though!

Dr John: I love your new icon!!! Its very nice. You would love poppyseed chicken...its the best. I may put the recipe on here for you guys to try.

Star: I hate hate hate spiders..Im scared to death of them.....and I think this bite Ash has is going to be nasty before its all over with.

Michelle: I am worried about the bite, but I always worry about my kids. But she is having so much pain with it. And she is not feeling well today...she said its almost an effort to talk. I will keep you posted.

Ouch! Just the thought of a spider bite hurts. My husband got one, and he said it was so painful and sore. I hope she feels better soon.
I'm the same way. I'm not a morning person who does good underpressure too.
Enjoy your visit with your friend, can't wait to hear about the adventures you two had!

I work better under pressure too. Plus, if you clean too early it gets messy again before the guests come!

Thanks for the kind words on Maya.
