~ Give this some thought ~

If you just found out you won a million dollars....what is the very first thing you would do?

I would go to Hilton Head and buy a beach house for summer vacations. Not just any beach house ~ a beautiful one right on the beach and I would invite my family and friends to come there for vacations.

I would probably go smoke a cigarette by the ocean and have one long talk with myself!

I would get a trusted accountant. We had a 5million winner in our community and she said the paperwork was awful.

I would put most of it in CD's. A million dollars is a lot of money, but it can disappear in a hurry if a person isn't careful.

I'd make arrangements to pay off my mortgage and other minor debt, then invest the rest! Oh wait, I'd probably take a trip to Europe, Ireland in specific to look up our old haunts from when we were married there! :)

I would help my parents clear their debt, they had to file bankruptcy 3 years ago. Then I would pay off my house and cars, invest some of what is left then take off to Europe for my dream vacation

Mommy: I know exactly what you mean.....a nice quiet talk with yourself....sounds cool!

Betty: that would be the secret...finding a trusted accountant! lol

Dr JOhn: how nice to think of the kids instead of yourself! ( unlike me ..lol) I guarantee you my kids would spend as much time at the beach house as me....lol. I would make a nice gift to my Church too. I think I would refurbish our Church kitchen.

Gary: smart move!!! but I would have to blow some of it.

Lori: definitly!!!!!

Chana: Thats sounds nice Chana..it woould be something you would always remember.

Overwhelmed: Nice to see you! I love your blog...Im waiting for the next part of the story! Yes paying off anything you owe would be a "must do"...also traveling...oh yea!

Fuzz: I wanta see that!!!!!! LoL

TC:....haha..you go boy!!!!

kristi:how nice that you think of your parents first kristi.stop in and see me at the beach house while your on vacation!

Hi Catch, First thing I'd do is donate a lot to P.B.S.O (perinatal bereavement support serivces Ontario) whom have been angels helping me thorugh this, a lot to Sick kids hospital in Toronto the neonatal intensive care unit for taking care of my Jack, and then I'd fly Joe and our families on vacation. Having a much better day today, a saying that gives me strength is "weeping may go on all night but joy comes with the morning" very true for me!
Love to you too!

I have no idea really. A million doesn't go far anymore unless you are real smart. And it's not enough to buy hubby out of the navy. So I guess try to invest somehow to get the most out of it. And then when he gets out in 8 years finally build our dream house. But I do know that I would pay off my moms house for her, right away. And pay off some of her credit debt if I could. That way she could finally stop working and her health would improve, hopefully.
