They took the pin out around 12:30 this afternoon at the hospital. He did not give her an anesthetic, said he didnt want to put her under. I left the room when he pulled out the pin! I kept waiting for her to yell, but she didnt. Then he gave her an intravenous antibiotic drip ( which I was glad of). So this evening she doesnt seem to be in as much pain and hopefully we can get this thing healed up. She still has the cast on and another pin on the other side of her wrist, but it seems to be doing well. The cast and other pin comes out in 2 weeks if we dont have anymore problems. Thank you all for your concerns. I am my Mothers advocate, even if she does keep telling me to shut up! lol
I would have loved to have stayed home today and played in the pool. I was in it Monday most of the day before we went to the hospital and got quite a sunburn on my back. Tomorrow I have to watch the little ones so I wont be playing in the pool then either. One of these days I am gonna get to do what I wanna do on the day I wanna do it!!! ; )) Gaige and Zack were here on Monday when I was in the pool and I made the mistake of telling them there was a shark in the water...lol, so they wouldnt get in with me. Little sissypants, Im gonna have to toughen those two up! ; ))
The weather is very hot, but I am not complaining....for a person who hated hot weather all her life and looked forward to Winter, I have done a complete turn around! I love the hot sunny days. I used to think people who liked hot weather were nuts! Go figure.
Im off to beddy byes.....definately need some beauty sleep!

SO glad your mom has seen the doctor again and that they took action this time! The IV antibiotics are much better as they are going to be absorbed so much faster than the oral ones.
i will cross my fingers in hopes that our momma gets better with no more problems and that you get a full, sunny day to yourself.
YOUR MUM IS SO BRAVE.
Catch, I'm coming over rain, rain and more bloody rain. Its not a suntan I have its rust!!
Night-night....
Glad the ordeal of having the pin out wasn't too bad for your Mum. Hopefully the IV AB's will do the trick now.
I want to come live with you - I love the sun and a pool! Please, pretty please, can I, can I, can I??
You're a wonderful daughter Catch. Yes you are! Don't argue with me. :)
Things seem to be heading the right direction. I hope your mom has continued healing and that all is well. Now, take some time and get back into the pool.
yikes! i just read about your mom! i am so glad you got that taken care of.. but no anesthetic? she's a brave woman!
i hope she heals quickly!!
and i know what you mean about doing what you want to do on the day you want to do it.. i get one of those about every 6 months... lol
Glad to hear she's on the road to recovery...hopefully things will go smoothly from here on out!
My Mother is much braver than me....had they tried to take that pin out of my wrist with no anesthetic I would have been a wildcat! They would have been happy to put me out! lol ..I am happy to report that this morning it looks much better, swelling is going down and less red....she is sitting here drinking her coffee !
Glad to see there is a daughter who takes such good care of her mother. Brava. I remember when I broke my leg. I was 14 and got kicked by a horse. I had to have a pin put in for the traction. It hurt more going in than out. Bless you both.
Great news, onwards and upwards Catch's Mom.
Catch,
We don't usually give an anesthetic to pull pins. It really doesn't hurt any more than ripping your fingernail off. Just kidding. But it really doesn't require anesthesia.
Glad they Finally did the right thing!
Red and swolllen is usually a bad thing. There is an exception. ;-)

Great news, put some brandy in that lady's coffee....
Sure glad to read that your Mom is on the mend finally! Hope you get to enjoy that pool again soon, too. I've been running around in my bus with the air conditioning on full blast! The passengers get on with big sighs of relief, all but one- she whines. Imagine not wanting frigid air conditioning when it's 90+ outdoors...
Cindy...some people whine about everything...
so happy to hear that your mother is on the mend, hopefully with no more set backs :)
Glad your kmother is doing so well> i really envy your pool as I take the pool with pin holes back to Wal Mart.
Wishing your mom all the best. Hopefully your day at the pool will come soon.
I am SO glad to hear your mom is on the mend.
Bless her heart....she's (and you) had a tough time.
Now get in that pool! ;-)
Glad to hear your mom is doing better. Here's to continued healing!
I told my husband I want an indoor pool in our "next house". He said only if he could have a monkey. What??? Guess that means I won't get a pool. Do you take visitors?
Your poor Mom, infection is just the worst thing to combat! I'm glad she's feeling better. I absolutely understand the frustration of not being able to do what you want because of other obligations! Hang in there and buy some sun screen!
Good for mama! Hope it heals up quick now! Poor thing, it's a shame she's going through this though. You're very good to her!
I'm glad your momma is feeling better. You are a good daughter. :)
I hate hot weather. Ick.
I'm glad they were finally able to take that pin out! I can't believe he didn't put her under and she didn't yell! Continued prayers for your mom!
So glad your mom is doing better. I am not sure, but those days of doing what you want, when you want are called retirement! LOLOL I envy your in the pool days! hugsssssssssssss
I would have blown my stack too, but I am glad your mom is on the mend. LOL!We spent Monday in the pool too. Lindsay's a water baby, she loved when I held her and chased the other two around the pool. That's too funny about the Sharks, Katelyn would freak too if we told her that. She believes everything.
The hot weather doesn't bother me too much, but not getting in rain. I love a rainy day. :)
Have fun with the grand babies! :)
Take care,
Christine
