Show and Tell Monday

My show and tell for today is my new babydoll! She looks very real . I collect babydolls and could spend hours picking out just the right one! I hope when my granddaughter Pacey gets a little older she will enjoy them too. And yes, I will let her play with them. If I had a babydoll that was as lifelike as these ones are I would have been thrilled. I had Chatty Cathy...who ever heard of a babydoll with a string coming out of its back?

I think you should've taken her out yesterday for April Fool's Day and made everyone think she was your real baby!

Betty collects stand up dolls with fancy costumes. Nobody is allowed to touch them. I collect trains. Everybody has something they collect.

I haven't seen a doll that looks as real as that one. They sure didn't make them like that when I was a kid. I had a chatty Cathy too, and I remember she said about three of four things. To bad we don't have those dolls now, they would probably be worth a fortune

Goodness, that babydoll looks so real!!!
I am so surprised you did not trick us by putting beer bottles all around it...and a beer in her lips for April Fools...
But you are too kind of a woman to do such an evil trick...

Beautiful pink doll. Would look great on my pink blog. lol
And yes, I had a chatty cathy, A tall one. She had a white sailor top and blue skirt. Freckles and specs. I think I still have a photograph of me holding her. We should have hung onto our dollies!

These are definitely lower maintenance than the real thing.

Maybe because as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a Mom, I always wanted a lifelike babydoll that I could dress up in baby clothes. If they had had one like this when I was little, man I would have been thrilled. Although, I didn't get dolls when I was little. Mom said, "gee, I didn't know you wanted one." Oh man......can a person be that un observant...haha

Anyway, I still love babydolls. I bought an antique dollbed, and I have babydolls in it. And yes, I have babyclothes on them......but unfortunately, all I have is grandsons......maybe someday a granddaughter will come. My daughter wasn't into dolls......she preferred stuffed animals.

WOW! She really does look like a real sleeping babydoll. That's great your granddaughter can play with them. Katelyn loves to play with hers. When Lindsay was born,my husband and I laughed because Lindsay weighed only 5 lbs. and Katelyn's dolls probably weighed more than a real baby!LOL!

No Chatty Cathy for me, but I strangly remember a Mrs. Beasley. I am going to have to look that up. I came from the Baby That-a-way era (right before Cabbage Patch kids)
I cannot believe how real that baby looks!!!

I had a Chatty Cathy doll- made her talk once right during church and got a spanking for it...my sister had Mrs. Beasley. Mom didn't let Mrs. B. go to church. Can't imagine why not.
Remember Jane West?

When I first saw it I thought it must be a picture of a grandchild and I scrolled down to hear all about the new edition. What a great thing to collect!
