Monday Show and Tell

This is my show and tell for today. I got a new breakfast set this week . Its a glass top table and what I really loved about it were the chairs and the way the table looks when you look down through it. So you may be wondering why I have a green tablecloth on it........very simple to explain.....the munchkins leave those little fingerprints everywhere bless their little hearts...so I have decided to cover the table till they all graduate since I dont intend on being tied down to the windex bottle and paper towels! So in essence, I bought a glass top table because I love the look of it and then I covered it up.

Isnt this beautiful? Of course notice there is already a smudge or two on it!

I love the chairs.

we bought a glass top table way way back. but then my almost one yearold got stuck in it and i had to phone 911 and it took five firefighters and a blowtorch to get him out. now we have a wooden table

you are right on for the smudges, and just try and get dried prridge off it!

It is gorgeous. It reminds me of the antique bedroom set that I had when I was growing up.

It is indeed a lovely table, but you are right, who needs to be tied to windex......best to just cover it for now. It is like my frig, I need a new one, but not going to buy anything new until the kids are grown, the cat leaves home, and the husband agrees to help keep things clean. Which pretty well means that frig better last forever. haha

That's an absolutely beautiful set! (With and without the table cloth!) We're getting new furniture, too! Two new *MUCH NEEDED* couches-- gotta wait 6 to 12 weeks for delivery *sighs-- it never fails that I'd pick a color that had to be special ordered *LOL*

Anyway, love the new dining set! Thanks for sharing with us! *hugs*

I always thought glass topped tables were so you could see were you had dropped your food before you had to bend down and clean it up.

Absolutely gorgeous Catch! I need a breakfast kitchen set- and something different from the everyday wooden table & chair deal from Ikea, you know?

Hope you're having a fabulous Monday! :)

what a nice set...glad that you decided to take the cover off. I use to keep a set of 'good' dishes in the back of the cupboard and maybe use them once a year...the dishes are now at the front to use everyday...what the hell good is it to have something nice and then not use it or look at it cept when someone or something special is around...I decided that me and Ol Man are special and we now use the dishes every day.
So keep the windex handy and enjoy the beautiful breakfast set...does that mean that you have 2 other table sets? one for lunch and one for supper?

I used to find finger prints, jelly marks, greese everywhere on the top under the top everywhere. So we bought a table cloth and now the prints are still there we just don't see them as often and we saved about $100,000.00 in windex.

I have a glass coffee table, so I know what you mean. But hey, whats a few marks here and there!!!

That's a gorgeous breakfast table set. Love the green table cloth.
HA! I love it, keep it covered until the graduate. That's funny.
I don't know how my SIL does it. She has a glass table top, and she goes crazy with the windex and paper towels. Shoot, my table gets dirty with the kids, and mine's not glass, I could only imagine.
I do have a stainless steel stove, that shows the finger prints, that drives me crazy.
Have a great day Catch!

i love the table set! and i'm glad you uncovered. one of the things my mom says she loves the most is looking at all the fingerprints on her glass door after my kids have left. it reminds her of them.
i'm also tagging you with a blog tag. i hope you don't mind. i always enjoy your pictures and hope you will play.

I'd be more afrAZid they would drop something on it and break it. My mother had a beautiful coffee table with a glass top. I jumped from the couch and went right through it.

Very pretty...I, too, am glad you uncovered it! Beautiful chairs!! My dining set is the desk where my computer is - LOL. It's just me - & I DO have TV trays for company. Pretty classy, huh?!

I'd rather clean glass than do laundry but that's just me.

Very pretty! I do the same thing with my glass furniture, someday there will be nobody but me smudging them up. Then, of course, I'll be missing the tableclothes.

So you get a few smudges-it's worth it. I need to get new living room furniture and I was going to wait til my kids grew up, now I'm waiting til the grandkids grow up...at this rate, what I have will have to last forever...
