I was over at the Ol Ladys Blog and reading where she doesnt feel well, her daughter brought the flu home and now they are all getting it. It reminded me of when my kids were small...and if you get the flu yourself someone still has to take care of the house and kids. If the kids are sick you have to give the meds and baby them because they are usually cranky and want their Mommies, and if they are not sick, and you are....look out! lol. If you happen to lay down and fall asleep and leave them free rein of the house its hard to tell what havoc they will cause.

You all know my Mother lives with me. I have to tell you about what it was like to have her for a Mother. When I would get the flu she would come armed with juices and tylenol and she would stay with us for the duration so I could stay in bed till I got better. And when we all got better, she usually went home with the flu! She was the most giving ,caring Mother anyone could ask for.

When I had my babies she was here to help me with cooking, taking care of the baby, cleaning, laundry...she was a gem. When any of us moved into a new house she was right there with a paintbrush, painting right along with whoever.

So, she lives with me,but my brothers are great to pitch in and help out with her. They call her and take her to lunch. My one brother took her to Vermont this Fall so she could see the foilage. They were gone for a week and she had a great time.

If she is ill and we are going to the Emergency room all 3 of us go. On Mothers Day we have a nice dinner for her at the Club. I feel she deserves all these things. She should have a medal for all she has been through with us kids.

And you know what??? Of the 3 of us....I know she likes me best! ;))

Being sick is never fun! I hate it, and I love having someone waiting on me hand and foot when I am sick, and people say I am unbearable haha

It's such a blessing to have a great relationship with your mother. And it's so true, if my mom goes to the hospital - my sisters and I drop everything and go- regardless of how small the problem is.

You and your mother are blessed to have one another!

What a beautiful picture too!

Enjoy your weekend!

What a lovely relationship you have! I can't see my kids caring as much for me. My mother died at 49 from ovarian cancer. Unfortunately we never had the chance to develope the adult mother daughter bond. Treasure your mother! And kudos to your brothers!

That's so cool to have a mother like yours. I'm sure if my mother didn't have to work full time she'd help me out with the kids. I kind of miss her because she does work FT!
That is such a beautiful pic of your MOM!She has a very warm and caring smile.
Have a great weekend Catch!

I remember once when I had Measles followed by Chicken Pox, and had to have four weeks straight off school. I think that's when my mum taught me differential calculus...

Just kidding.

Enjoy this time with her. Too soon it comes to an end. The last years when my mother was with us one month and my sister the next were a special time. They were filled with special memories. We even too her and Betty's mother to Las Vegas. So make memories and go on loving her.

How lucky you are, Catch. I was young when my mother died, and I miss that we never got to have a relationship. I envy you and your mother!
