OUCH!!!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was working on Ashleys apartment on Saturday, painting her bedroom. I was sitting on the floor painting around the bottom of the wall......the metal bed frame was propped against the mattresses. We were all in the bedroom, I was just sitting there painting away and all of a sudden the bedframe came crashing down on my head!! Gaige had moved it....it hurt so bad I just screamed....figuring I was going to pass out ( or die). It hurt so bad I was crying. Poor Gaige was crying "Grammy , Im sorry". I was in so much pain I couldnt even talk for a few minutes! Finally I got enough nerve to feel my head, I figured it would have knots all over it...or worse yet..blood. But there were no bumps or blood. But my head is incredibly sore!! After it happened, I took care to notice if I got dizzy or had any blurred vision. Thank goodness I didnt have any. I have a dull headache at times. Not bad though. Im going to tell you though, it was quite a jolt! I hate hitting my head on anything....I dont care of I hit my arm, you have 2 of them, but you only got 1 head and its pretty important! ;))...besides that I have a lot of stuff stored up there.

I know I blogged awhile back about the lady I take care of named Peggy who was getting a shunt put in her brain, she is home from the hospital and we are back to work with her. She is doing very well...we have her walking again. All that time in the hospital and they did not work on her walking! They just let her lay in bed. So we have been back to work with her for a few weeks now and today I worked with her and we walked out on her deck and sat for a while :)) So Peggy is coming along well I am happy to say.

And I have all week off this week!!!( Unless someone reports off and I have to cover it!) Yippee!

Catch,
Glad you're alright! Those head bangers can really bring you to your knees.
Enjoy your week off.

So Catch,

Is that a photo of you on the floor holding your head. I guess at least you were wearing the right clothes for the bedroom job, not some stuffy boiler suits.

Looks like you had a premonition when you posted the pic below, with the towel wrapped around the cat's head. I can just imagine you walking around the house with a towel on your head and nought else.

PS- I just noticed the cat is hetting a backrub, gosh they've got it good these cats:
"you rub mine and I'll rub yours"
hmm yeah, I'm up for it, lol!

I am so glad you are okay other than the awful pain! I hate that scary feeling you get like when you thought you would pass out or there would be blood. I am so sorry it happened but glad it was not any worse. When Gaige is older you can remind him of th etime he tried to take out Gammy and maybe you will get a foot rub or something out of it;)

I am happy Peggy is doing well and I hope her walking goes well too! She is lucky to have you helping her! Enjoy your week off.

Good idea you had to make some noise when you hurt your head. I find that if I yell a bit when I hurt myself it somehow eases the pain a little. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm just easily distracted.

If I were there with you I would bring you cold compresses. Try to have a nice, bump free week.

What wonderful news about Peggy! Not the hospital stay, but that you've got her up and walking again :)

Ouch. That sounds painful. I have hit my head so hard that I cried. No blood or bumps, but YOWZA!! Glad you are ok.

Hope the pain eases. Hitting your head is scary.
It is important to keep those legs moving even if the person isn't. Glad that Peggy is walking again.

OUCH!!!

I have many scars on my head....all from the fact that when I get close to something, I can't see it.........bad eyesight from the age of 8. Well I can tell you, the handle bars on a bike make a really nice crecent mooned shape hole in your head.....

And the door latch cuts a pretty good gash also......man the head does bleed......

So I think you might just be lucky, a metal bed frame sounds like it could have really done a good job on your head. I do know how to apply a nice butterfly bandage though.....
