~ Sunburn ~

I hope you all had a great holiday. We finally got to swim in the pool! I was in there for about 2 hours just floating on a raft and now I am sooooo sunburned. My skin is stinging! But I am not complaining ~ just glad to be able to be in the pool.

We had a parade at noon. I think our parades get smaller every year. But they threw candy and the kids all loved it, as if they never get candy any other time.~ lol~ It is tradition to watch the parade, it always goes right past my house. Everyone gathers on my front porch. This is life in a small town, and I would miss it if I ever left.

Then we went swimming ~ I didnt even cook on the grill today! I had pizza !! ..lol. My brother invited us over to his house for a cookout but now we are all tired...and I have to go to work tonight..so we passed on it.

My niece is in from Florida and she stopped in ~ she was telling me that a boy from this area that she used to date when she was in high school shot himself last night. He was only 26 or 27. I can remember him playing basketball and he was such a nice looking kid. My heart aches for his family. My niece heard it was over a girl. Such a waste of a young life. I just dont know what to think of this world anymore.

Well ~ Im off to work. Hope you all had a great day!

It sounds like you had a great day. We had a hot quiet day could have used a pool.

It is always so sad when someone takes their life. It is also so hard on the family.

Sounds like a great way to spend Memorial Day. Sorry to hear about your nieces friend. In a short time I have lost three schoolmates to suicide. It is never easy for those left behind.

Glad to hear you got to swim, sorry about the burn! Binker got in his baby pool yesterday and played with the hose. He loved it! Despite how cold the water was.

Sorry to hear about your neices friend. A guy who was a senior when I was a freshman did the same thing for the same reason. It was so sad. He always playfully teased me. I liked him and he was very loved.

Oh My heart hurts today... I wish I could talk to every one is the world who is that distressed. Not that I'm an expert on anything, but I do know that place of absolute darkness and dispair. I still trip and fall into that hole every know and then, but at least I know there is a ladder to climb out of it know when I am ready.
I will say a prayer for everyone.

A parade? Going past your house? People gathering on your porch? Oh, man, life in a small town sounds so cool, really and truly.

Betty: it was a great day....and the pool was refreshing.

Fuzz: no..its especially hard on the ones left behind.

Mimi: I think Dick has gone, and I am sad...I enjoyed his comments.

Chana: Nope...didnt wear my sunscreen like a dummy.

Beady: I didnt see any beads! lol

Honey: oh my..he did it in a Sheetz? That would be hard to go back into. Good luck on the house. I always took my Dad when I was buying something big.

Karen: heres wishing you a better tomorrow. I left a note on your blog.

Mommy: its very nice to live in a small town..If I were lonely or bored I could go out on my front porch and someone would come by to talk to..a lot of the people still dont lock their doors at night.....I do. Theres a lot of advantages to a small town..the only bad thing is everyone knows your business! lol..or they at least try to.

Hi Catch, I am Ok, just so very sad when I hear of people hurting themselves, even committing suicide not knowing that tommorw will exist, even when you can't see it or believe in it. I don't know how I wake up every day, or how I am starting to be interested in things again... Surrendering myself to whatever powers are there, knowing that life is one day at a time, often only 1 or 5 minutes at a time, but it is life none the less. Thank you for your concern. You are a dear friend to me.

OH working with a sunburn sucks.
I bet your pool felt nice to get in and relax.
Pizza, parade and pool sounds like a wonderful weekend.

Don't think suicide for love is a product of this generation . Remember Romeo and Joliet. This crazy love thing has been around forever. Suicide really hurts those who remain. as a pastor I have had to comfort families whose son or daughter committed suicide and it wasn't easy.
Get some sunscreen or you'll be commiting suicide by sun.
