Did you ever stop and think...'if I had my life to live over I would do this differently'. I have a lot of things I would do differently....I wouldnt have been in such a hurry to get married...I would have gone to college. But when your young you dont think of things to prepare you for the future because you always think you are going to be young. And when I think of when I was young ~ I can see that it just went by way too fast.

When I was in school it was a time when girls didnt really think of supporting themselves in the future. We had steady boyfriends who most of us planned to marry after school and it was his job to worry about the future. We gals didnt go to work back after we got married. We stayed home, cleaned the house, cooked, and talked endlessly on the phone with our girlfriends. When we started having babies we got to stay home and enjoy them. I could have really enjoyed that time if my husband hadnt been such a dork. But then he was always a dork.

I can remember one summer when the boys were small, I didnt have baby girl yet. Hubby was on steady afternoon turn. Everyday when he went to work the boys and I packed up and went to the pool and stayed all day. All of my gf's were there with their kids,so we sat around and talked all day and got tanned and watched the kids play. None of us worked, very few of us had any college education. It was a good time.

We had card club once a month and we always had a great time with that. We took turns having it at each others house every month, then after we got done playing cards we went out!! Sometimes we didnt even finish playing cards , we just went out. We did all kinds of different things...we went skating, we went bar hopping, whatever we did we all went and it was fun! It was just us gals...we were all friends.

I guess the only thing I would do differently is....get some education. I loved taking care of my kids, having fun with my friends. I never knew there would come a day when I had to take care of me. But I do it quite well....and also take care of Mom. And its a good life..I dont have hubby to fight with anymore....and its peaceful, and he and I are better friends than we were husband and wife. You know how they say ' it will all come out inthe wash'...I guess it does.

Hi Catch, I picture you looking like sunshine... Sounds to me like you've had a lot of education in life, so it didn't come from a text book, I think "school" can be highly over rated. You are a very resoursefull woman, and should be proud of the life you are living!

I love and agree with what joe & karen said! I think life itself can teach you more than college. And by the wonderful person that you are I think you learned a lot!

I hate a lot that happened to me. But I would not change a thing or I might not be where I am. Well I mean with hubby and Binker. I don't mean CT cause we all know I don't like it here! LOL

Have a great weekend!

Other than the dork it sounds like you have had a good life. Education of the formal kind isn't all that it's cracked up to be. My wife has a teaching degree but she prefered to stay home and raise the kids.I would have sent her to work.

I have no regrets other than my education should have been in nursing.

There are things that I might have done differently but I do not regret them for the decisions both for good or ill have made me what I am.

Sounds like fun times and still is.
I think a person learns more about life by what is thrown at them rather than a learned education.
PS it always does come out in the wash doesnt it LOL.

Sweet post. No regrets. Reading your biography I would say you have done it all beautifully. I love the image of all your kids and their kids crowding your home. It's exactly the home I hope for in years to come. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog! I'll be back here to visit again. :)
